CDG to Disneyland Paris Transfer Options

CDG to Disneyland Paris: Every Transfer Option Compared

Charles de Gaulle isn’t far from Disneyland Paris. It’s about 35 kilometres, and on a clear road you could be there in 40 minutes. The distance isn’t what makes the trip stressful. It’s the first hour after landing: the tired kids, the suitcases, the signs in a language you may not read, and a long list of ways to get there.

We run airport transfers for families travelling to Disneyland. We’ll be fair about the other options too, because the right choice depends on who you’re travelling with. Here is each one, with what actually happens.

The TGV Train: Fast, If the Timing Works

There’s a high-speed station inside Terminal 2, and the direct TGV to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy takes only 10 to 13 minutes. Tickets start at about €22 per adult, and that’s hard to beat on paper.

The catch is the schedule. Only a limited number of trains run each day, so you’re planning around the timetable rather than your flight. You’ll also be walking through the terminal to the station, queuing for tickets if you haven’t booked, and hauling bags onto a train. If you land at Terminal 1 or arrive late in the evening, the speed advantage shrinks quickly.

Best for: adults with light luggage whose flight happens to line up with a departure.

RER B and RER A: Cheapest, Slowest

This is the budget route. You take the RER B into central Paris, change at Châtelet–Les Halles, then ride the RER A out to Disneyland. The whole thing takes 70 to 80 minutes if nothing goes wrong, and an adult fare is roughly €17.

On a quiet day with a backpack, it’s fine. With a stroller, two children and three suitcases, changing platforms in one of the busiest stations in Paris is not how most families want to spend the first evening of their holiday. Trains can also be crowded at commuter hours.

Best for: solo travellers and couples who want to spend as little as possible and don’t mind the time.

Shared Shuttle: Simple, but Slow

Shared airport shuttles run direct routes to the Disney hotels, with fares around €23 per adult and less for children. The price is low and there’s no changing trains.

Because the vehicle is shared, it leaves when it’s full or on a set schedule, and it stops at several hotels before yours. A trip that takes 40 minutes by car can stretch to 90 once you count the waiting and the other drop-offs. After a long flight, that hour and a half feels longer than it sounds.

Best for: travellers who don’t mind waiting and are staying at a hotel on the shuttle route.

Metered Taxi: Convenient, Unpredictable

A taxi from the rank outside arrivals takes you door to door in roughly 40 minutes. Expect to pay somewhere between €65 and €90, sometimes more, depending on traffic, the time of day and how many people and bags you have.

It’s a decent fallback. The weak point is the meter. You won’t know the final price until you arrive, and a traffic jam on the A1 adds to the bill by the minute. A larger family may also need two cars, which doubles the cost.

Best for: last-minute plans when nothing is booked.

Private Transfer: The Easy One

A private CDG to Disney cab is a pre-booked car and driver, with the price agreed before you fly. Your driver is in the arrivals hall when you walk out, takes your bags and drives straight to your hotel or the park entrance. No timetable, no platform changes, no sharing.

That sounds like a luxury, but for most families it’s the best-value choice once you count everything. Four train tickets plus a taxi for the last stretch, or four shuttle seats, often come to about the same as one private vehicle. And that vehicle can be a family van with child seats, which none of the public options offer.

What a private transfer gets you that the others don’t

Your flight, not a timetable. We track your flight live. If it lands early or two hours late, your driver adjusts and you don’t pay extra for it. A train or shuttle won’t wait for you.

A fixed price. What you book is what you pay, including tolls and standard luggage. There’s no meter and no surprise at the end.

Space for everyone. Strollers, ski bags, big suitcases and a toddler asleep on your shoulder all fit more easily in a van than on a train.

Door-to-door drop-off. The car stops at your hotel entrance, whether that’s Disneyland Hotel, Newport Bay Club, Sequoia Lodge or a place in Val d’Europe.

Calm after a long flight. For many travellers this matters more than saving a few euros. You step out of arrivals, someone is waiting with your name, and the stress is over.

Which Option Should You Pick?

If you’re travelling alone with a cabin bag and the TGV timetable suits you, take the train. If every euro counts and you have time, the RER will get you there.

But if you have children, a group of three or more, heavy luggage, a late arrival or an early morning check-in, a private transfer is the better choice. It removes the guesswork. The price is settled, the driver is waiting, and you’re at your hotel before you’ve had time to get frustrated.
